Iona Past Pupils' Association - IPPA
Once an Ionian, always an Ionian
The Iona Past Pupils’ Association (IPPA) is an alumni network that allows former Ionians to stay connected, engaged, supported and inspired.
A dedicated committee of Past Pupils work all year round to host reunions and run mentoring programs and events. In addition to their own bespoke events, IPPA engage with current Iona students and offer guidance through workshops, presentations, special events and symposiums.

REUNIONS
IPPA regularly holds reunions for classes who graduated 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 years ago. In addition to these annual ‘Class of’ reunions, a biennial event is run for our former boarding students and for our most treasured Ionians, the ‘Golden Girls’ Mass, Luncheon and Reunion is held annually. Iona Golden Girls graduated 50 or more years ago and meet back on College grounds, to reconnect and reminisce. It is a truly special event.
MENTORING
IPPA Mentoring Program
IPPA members are matched - mentor to mentee - to compliment career, aspirations and goals. The program provides unique opportunities for IPPA members to expand their network, make connections and tap into the skills of more experienced Iona graduates.
Workshopping the Future
Is a key event of the year, where Past Pupils are welcomed back to Iona to participate in informal workshops with Year 10 students getting ready to embark on Senior School Subject selections. Students attend the workshops that best suit their interests. For example, Young IPPA engineers, scientists, medical professionals, teachers, marketing and advertising professionals and more.
EVENTS
Empower Me, Inspire Her
Launched in 2022, Empower Me, Inspire Her has quickly become a signature event for IPPA. A symposium for all Iona women – Past Pupils, mothers and staff – it is a one-day occasion where guests hear from impressive keynote speakers, panellists and presenters.
Inspirational keynote speakers from past EMIH events include distinguished neuroscientist and educator Professor Lyn Beazley AO FAA FTSE, Australian cricket royalty Justin Langer A.M, nine-times Paralympian gold medallist Priya Cooper OAM, prolific Australian author Dr Sally Murphy OAM, and Australian of the Year Award-Winner and social impact maker Craig Hollywood.
IPPA NETWORKING BREAKFAST
These annual events provide a wonderful opportunity to bring alumni back to the College to listen to inspiring panel discussions and meet and network with dynamic Ionians. Panel topics often reiterate the College value of focus for the year – for example, the 2023 Networking Breakfasts followed the theme of Social Justice and Compassion.
