Celebrating Philosothon Success
On Tuesday 16 September, our students joined schools from across Perth at UWA for the annual Philosothon, exploring big questions through three dynamic rounds of Communities of Inquiry. The final unseen round on D_eep Fakes_ pushed participants to think critically alongside older peers.
We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievement of one of our Year 7 students, Audrey T. (7 O'Dowling River), who not only won a Silver Medal but was also recognised as the Upcoming Female Philosopher for Years 7–9. A remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the depth of thinking and courage shown by our young philosopher!
When asked about the experience, Audrey shared: "It was exciting and a bit daunting to discuss such big ideas with older students, but I learned so much and felt proud to have my voice heard."
Congratulations to all our participants on the night:
- Audrey T.(7 O'Dowling River)
- Indi H. (8 Moynihan) and Anna V. (8 Columba)
- Zoe B. (9 Treacey) and Claire D. (9 O'Dowling)
- Della C.(10 O'Halloran)
- Gemma W. (11 O'Dowling)
An enormous thank you to Etta I. (7 Kildare River), Caoimhe P. (8 Kildare) and Jasmine C. (11 Treacey) for supporting the girls' preparation. Also, our gratitude goes out to Evelyn Franklyn (Class of 2024) for her assistance.
