Year 10 Reflection Day

At Iona, our Senior School students are fortunate to participate in Annual Reflection Day experiences as part of their holistic faith formation.

On Friday 5 September last week, our Year 10 students engaged in an interactive and inspiring program themed "Presentation Women of Compassion." As a core Gospel value, compassion invites us to lean into the suffering of others and respond with love and action.

Throughout the day, students explored the lives of compassionate women, including Nano Nagle and others, whose words and actions continue to shape our world. By researching their stories, students identified key traits such as faith, courage, empathy and resilience, gaining insight into how these values can be lived out to create lasting change.

Through a range of reflective activities and exercises in compassionate connection, students deepened their understanding of why compassion matters, in relationships, leadership, and everyday life. They were challenged to consider how even small, daily acts of compassion can have a powerful impact.

The day was a meaningful blend of fun, faith, and thoughtful engagement, reminding us of the beauty that unfolds when we choose to live and lead compassionately. Together, we continue to build a Catholic Presentation community that lives out the heart of our Presentation spirit: to be women of welcoming heart, inspired by Jesus, by Nano Nagle, and by all who lead with compassion.
